The Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) has renewed its call for an investigation of New Mexico Rep. Heather Wilson role in the ongoing scandal revolving around the firing of U.S. Attorney David Iglesias.

The call comes in the wake of the report issued by the Justice Department's Inspector General. The report says the Iglesias case was "most troubling" of the nine U.S. Attorney firings in late 2006. Iglesias was not dismissed for poor job performance as some top department officials claimed.

The report further bolsters the assertions by Iglesias and other former prosecutors that they were fired for political reasons.

Wilson sparked more controversy in her appearance on CBS's Face the Nation last Sunday. In an interview, Wilson suggested that any criticism of the Bush-Cheney foreign policy is tantamount to "talking down America" and is "unpatriotic."
