Matthew Reichbach wrote a short post on a new ad about Barack Obama in last week's New Mexico Independent.

It's a good ad - clear visuals and a simple message.

It's nice seeing a candidate state so clearly that in America, diversity is our greatest strength.
Over the weekend, the world almost ended (really, it did) because one of the candidates for president suggested that rampantly bad economic conditions for working people might actually breed bitterness.

Or, something to that effect.

The matter of whether or not Senator Obama's "bitter" point was in fact offensive has been debated at length. Some of my personal favorites include Robert Reich and TPM.

I will refrain from adding to the cacophony. Instead, let's circle around to the matter of health care costs. After all, the rising cost of health care is putting pressure on corporations and therefore affecting their ability to hire workers, right?

First, the turnout was HUGE. There was never any lull in the voting. This reflects the excitement that the Democrats are feeling this year and bodes very well for our success across the board in the 2008 elections. Most of the volunteers had signed up for 2 hr slots but ended up staying the full time just to keep the line moving.   Read More »
